The body of a man was retrieved from the sea in Newquay on Saturday morning.
Newquay Coastguard Rescue team were tasked alongside Newquay RNLI Lifeboats and Coastguard Rescue Helicopter 924 to the Tolcarne area at about 11.30am.
Devon & Cornwall Police, South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust HM Coastguard Padstow were also scrambled to the incident.
The body of a man in his thirties was recovered and confirmed deceased at the scene.
His next of kin have been informed.
The death is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner.
A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police said: “Police were called to Tolcarne Beach following a report of a body in the water.
“The body of a man in his thirties was recovered and confirmed deceased at the scene.”
Emergency services had been called to the Barrowfields following a report of concern for the welfare of the man on Friday at around 1.20pm.
Newquay Coastguard Rescue Team, South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust, Devon & Cornwall Police, Newquay RNLI Lifeboats and HM Coastguard Padstow were tasked to the incident.
The man was engaged with by police and taken into the care of health professionals.
