Two organisations representing some of Cornwall’s best-loved micro businesses and artisan enterprises will launch a series of monthly markets this Saturday.
The BIG Truro Market kicks off with an Easter Special on Lemon Quay, enticing visitors into the city with a shower of daffodils and the scent of freshly baked hot cross buns.
Brought to the city by Cornwall Shop Small and Truro Farmers Market with the support of Truro BID and Visit Truro, the event features over 60 stalls bursting to the rafters with seasonal goodies, as well as music, entertainment, street food and children’s activities, amounting to an unmissable day of fun in the heart of the city.
There will also be an Easter Egg Hunt beginning at 10am; find one of the wooden eggs hidden in the vicinity of the market and exchange it for a surprise Easter treat (one per person).
Truro Nourish Hub are hosting seasonal crafting activities for kids, and giving away free hot cross bun recipe cards so the fun can continue at home.
Stallholders will be a mix of local artists and contemporary crafters from the worlds of jewellery, fashion, homewares, and vintage style, alongside farm-fresh food produce, sustainable seafood, and some of Cornwall’s best-loved food and drink brands.
Local street food supremos will also be in attendance, cooking up a storm with freshly filled crepes, steaming bowls of Thai curry, mouth-watering gourmet burgers, seasonal salads and sweet treats in plentiful supply, from luxury ice cream and handmade chocolate to freshly baked cakes, biscuits, buns and pastries.
Sarah Curley from Cornwall Shop Small said: “We’re using our collective power to put on an unmissable showcase of Cornish creativity and ingenuity, where passion and positivity comes free with every purchase.
