Plans have been submitted to convert a former hotel in Newquay into seven apartments.
The former Hepworth Hotel in Edgcumbe Avenue has more recently operated as a B&B but the new plans seek to convert it into two-bedroom apartments.
A previous planning application sought to convert the building into a house of multiple occupation (HMO) of 12 bedrooms and three studio apartments.
This was refused due to the number of HMOs already in place in the local area and the addition of another would breach the Newquay neighbourhood development plan.
The new plans seek to improve the outside appearance of the building which the application states will make it more “contemporary”.
There are also plans to remove a conservatory and outbuilding.
By making the changes the applicants will provide more space for parking and storage. Parking for the site was one of the concerns about the previous refused application.
