A planning application has been submitted to demolish a 19th century coach house in Looe and replace it with seven apartments.

Stormseal SW Ltd has applied for permission to build the new development on the site at Millpool.

In a design and access statement submitted with the plans it is explained that the existing coach house dates from the 19th century and has previously been used as a garage with a flat above.

It states that: “The building has been much altered over the years and very little remains of the original fabric.”

It goes on to state: “The proposed new apartments will provide high quality accommodation for permanent residents of Looe.

"They have been designed to respond to the topography of the site and the unique character of the Millpool setting with its gabled terraces rising up a wooded slope.”

The development would have two blocks of apartments with one block containing five apartments and the other with two. Six of the apartments would have two bedrooms each and there would be a four-bedroom penthouse. A ground floor car park is also proposed.
