AN Engineering Technician Apprentice from Cornwall College St Austell has recently been named Manufacturing Final Year Apprentice of the Year 2025 at Plymouth’s Apprentice of the Year Awards.

Dan Piaskowski, a fourth-year apprentice at The Cornwall Bakery, specialises in mechatronics, ensuring the smooth operation of machinery.

His dedication led his employer to nominate him for the award, recognising his outstanding contributions.

The awards, hosted by the Plymouth Manufacturing Group and Building Cornwall, celebrate exceptional apprentices in construction and manufacturing across Plymouth and the surrounding areas.

Dan expressed his gratitude, he said: “I am deeply honoured. The support from my employer has been instrumental in my development, and I’m incredibly thankful for the opportunities I’ve had to grow and showcase my skills.”

He was amongst 45 finalists, with winners announced on Wednesday, February 12.
