VOLUNTEERS are needed to help sell poppies in Newquay to mark Remembrance Day.
Newquay Royal British Legion’s Newquay Poppy Appeal will be selling poppies at various venues in the town to raise vital funds to help veterans, current serving personnel, and their families.
Asda, Morrisons and Sainsbury’s will be among the supermarkets where poppies will be sold.
A spokesperson for Newquay Poppy Appeal said: “We are still in need of volunteers for collections at the three main supermarkets at Sainsburys, Asda and Morrisons. The normal two-hour slots need to be filled.”
People will be able to commemorate those who have lost their lives in the Armed Forces at the Newquay Garden of Remembrance at St Michael’s Church, which will open on Sunday, October 20, at 12pm.
A new Newquay Poppy Appeal hotline has been launched. People can contact the Newquay Poppy Appeal team on 07903 818442.
