The satellite launch into space was more eagerly anticipated by one visitor.
Adrian Grint, aged 46, from St Austell, dressed up as an alien for the occasion and waved around a sign saying 'Take Me Home.'
The alien had a steady stream of people wanting to pose for a picture with him. Many wished him well on his long journey home.
Adrian said: "I thought more people would be dressing up to be fair.
"I wanted to mark the special event because it is a once in a lifetime occasion.
"Satellite launch will bring long-term employment to the area. It is an historic occasion for the UK not just Cornwall."
