Truro’s Alverton Manor provided a picturesque backdrop for an unforgettable night when The Roseland Academy’s Year 11 students celebrated their long-awaited leavers prom on July 5, marking the end of their secondary school journey.
The evening commenced at Probus Square with the tradition gathering of school leavers from across the Roseland Peninsula, for family and friends to wish them well before they headed off to their prom night.
The inclement weather led Probus’ churchwarden to open the doors to ensure everyone stayed dry and comfortable.
The sight of students arriving at the Alverton was spectacular, involving a dazzling array of vehicles - including sports cars, lorries, tractors and even a horse - each an expression of individuality and celebration.
Students enjoyed a sumptuous meal during which prom awards were handed out, recognising achievements and memorable moments from their time at the academy; and the evening played out with music from The Tregony Teachers band, resulting in cherished memories for all.
