A motorcyclist from Roche died in a road traffic accident near St Austell on Tuesday morning.

The 39-year-old man, who was riding a green Kawasaki motorcycle, was involved in a collision with a tipper lorry on the B3274 between Roche and Stenalees at 7.45am.

The female driver of the lorry was uninjured but the motorcycle rider was pronounced deceased at the scene.

His next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specially trained officers.

The road was closed while forensic collision investigation work was carried out at the scene.

Officers from the Roads Policing Team would like to thank the public for their patience whilst the road was closed.

It was reopened at around 4.10pm.

Police investigating the fatal road traffic collision are appealing for any witnesses to come forward.
