A man has sustained life threatened injuries after suffering a suspected gunshot wound in Redruth on Thursday night.
Police were called to the area of Drump Road at around 6.30pm following a report of a serious assault.
It was reported that two men within a property had sustained injuries.
Both have been taken to hospital.
One of the men sustained a suspected gunshot wound to the back which is currently being treated as life-threatening.
A second man was reported to have been assaulted with an axe and sustained a serious head injury.
A number of resources, including armed units and the police helicopter, remain in the area at this time and the incident is ongoing.
Detective Superintendent Jon Bancroft, Senior Investigating Officer, said: “Detectives and specialist officers are deployed to support our initial investigation and we will provide further information in due course.
“I would urge anyone with information which may assist our enquiries, including dash-cam and CCTV footage in the area, to get in touch and report it to us.”
