STUDENTS at Camborne Science and International Academy (CSIA) are celebrating an outstanding set of A-Level results today, achieving a 100 per cent pass rate for the 10th consecutive year, with 42 per cent of grades being at A* and A grade.

CSIA offers multiple A-Level courses through The VI Form Academy and Cornwall School of Maths and Science (CSMS).

Ellie Hindson achieved four A* grades in chemistry, maths, further maths and physics, and an A in her Extended Project Qualification (EPQ). She is going to Cambridge to study Natural Sciences. "I'm very pleased with my results,” she said. “I enjoyed studying at CSMS - there were so many amazing opportunities, like going to Malaysia.”

Zoe McGuire received four A* grades in computer science, maths, further maths and physics. She will read maths and computer science at Oxford University. “I wasn't expecting to do this well,” she said, paying tribute to teachers Mr Reece and Mr Chapman.

Maya Dennis successfully achieved three A* grades in biology, chemistry and maths, and an A in her EPQ. She has secured a place to study biochemistry at Oxford University. “I’m relieved that the work I put in has paid off - CSMS created the environment and high expectations for me to do well,” she said.

Will Schwarz gained two As in biology and chemistry and two Bs in physics and his EPQ. “I've always struggled with exams, but the support I've had with revision and exam technique has really helped,” he said. He will study biochemistry at Bath University.

Morien Steinhardt achieved two A* grades in maths and design technology, and two As in further maths and his EPQ. "I got exactly what I wanted, and am super-happy,” he said. “I'm overjoyed that I've made it to the end, and I'm looking forward to studying engineering at Falmouth Marine School.”

CSIA principal Emma Haase said: “We’re delighted with the achievements of our A-Level students. They reflect two years of hard work and determination from both students and staff, who have worked tirelessly to achieve the best possible results.

“We wish all our students every success wherever they decide to take their next steps, be it in further education or venturing into the world of employment. We look forward to seeing how they utilise the skills they have learned during their time within the CSIA family.”

Oliver Kirkbride of The VI Form Academy said it had seen an increase of 12 per cent in its top results, “building on what was already outstanding”.

“This year’s group has done all of us here at Camborne so proud,” he added. “We look forward to welcoming our new cohort of students in September with the goal of continuing this trend.”
